• BE/B.Tech Engineering Degree in Naval Architecture, Mechanical, Marine, Automotive, Mechatronics, Industrial and Production, Metallurgy, Design, Aeronautical, or Aerospace with a minimum of 60% marks.
• Must have studied Maths and Physics at the 10+2 level.

Coast Guard CGCAT 2025 Batch Technical Electrical/ Electronics Male Eligibility Criteria 2024

• Engineering Degree in Electrical, Electronics, Telecommunication, Instrumentation, Instrumentation and Control, Electronics and Communication, Power Engineering, or Power Electronics with a minimum of 60% marks.
• Must have studied Maths and Physics at the 10+2 level.

Candidates recommended by the Final Selection Board for Assistant Commandant entry in the Indian Coast Guard will undergo a medical examination at ‘Base Hospital Delhi Cantt.’ The prescribed/current medical standards include:

• Height:
  • Asst Commandant (GD), Tech: Minimum 157 cms. Height reduction for candidates from hilly and tribal areas follows Central Govt. regulations.
• Weight:
  • Proportionate to Height and Age, with a permissible deviation of +10%.
• Chest:
  • Well-proportioned, with a minimum expansion of 5 cms.
• Hearing:
  • Normal
• Eye Sight:
  • Asst Commandant (GD): 6/6 6/9 (Uncorrected without Glass), 6/6 6/6 (Corrected with Glass).
  • Asst Commandant (Tech): 6/36 6/36 (Uncorrected without Glass), 6/6 6/6 (Corrected with Glass).
• Tattoo:
  • Permanent body tattoos are not permitted, except for specific concessions in tribal areas. For others, tattoos are allowed only on the inner face of forearms and the reverse side of the hand.
• Note:
  • Candidates are advised to clean their ears and remove dental issues before the medical examination.
  • Candidates claiming height relaxation must submit a domicile certificate.
  • Persons with any disability are not eligible to apply.
  • Only candidates meeting the specified medical standards will proceed in the selection process, with no waivers granted.
  • Detailed medical examinations will be conducted at military hospitals based on Coast Guard Orders and DGAFMS guidelines.

Selection Process Overview:

1. Stage-I: CGCAT (Computer Based Online Screening Test)
   • All candidates appear in CGCAT, a computer-based test with 100 MCQs.
   • Subjects: English, Reasoning & Numerical Ability, General Science & Mathematical Aptitude, General Knowledge.
   • Duration: 2 hours.
2. Stage-II: Preliminary Selection Board (PSB)
   • Shortlisted candidates from Stage-I undergo CCBT and PP&DT.
   • CCBT is objective, in English, and PP&DT involves speaking and discussing in English.
   • Stage-II is qualifying in nature (Pass/Fail).
   • Biometric, photo identification, and document verification are mandatory.
3. Stage-III: Final Selection Board (FSB)
   • Candidates qualifying in Stage-II proceed to FSB at CGSB, Noida.
   • Spans five days with Psychological Test, Group Task, and Interview (Personality test).
   • Final Selection tentatively during Jul-Oct 2024.
4. Stage-IV: Medical Examination
   • Candidates clearing Stage-III undergo a special medical examination at Base Hospital, New Delhi.
   • Those declared unfit have the option to appeal and report for appeal medicals within 42 days.
   • Review Medical Board (RMB) decision is final.
5. Stage-V: Induction
   • Candidates clearing Stage-IV and standing in the All India Merit List provisionally selected for training.
   • Report at INA Ezhimala for Naval Orientation Course (NOC).
   • Verification of photo and biometrics.

Important Note:

• Last date of induction at INA: 31 Dec 2024 or as mentioned in the Appointment letter, whichever is earlier.
• No further inductions after 31 Dec 2024 for batch integrity.
