PM Vishwakarma Yojana: Prime Minister Narendra Modi launched the PM Vishwakarma Yojana on the occasion of Vishwakarma Jayanti on September 17, 2023, to refine the skills of those who belong to the Vishwakarma community. 

Prime Minister Narendra Modi announced the beginning of this plan on Independence Day this year. 

This was also announced in the Union Budget. Through the PM Vishwakarma Yojana, also known as the Vishwakarma Kaushal Samman Yojana, the government will provide financial aid to traditional craftsmen and artisans. 

This initiative will assist those affiliated with 18 conventional businesses. Beneficiaries of this initiative will receive updated training in addition to cash help.

On September 17, 2023, Prime Minister Narendra Modi announced the PM Vishwakarma Yojana in honour of Vishwakarma Jayanti. 

PM Vishwakarma Kaushal Samman Yojana is the official name of this scheme. 

All individuals who are members of the Vishwakarma community will receive benefits under this yojana. 

Through this program, the government will give traditional craftsmen and artists from the Vishwakarma community up to Rs 15,000 in financial aid for tool kits. 

PM Vishwakarma Yojana Training and Daily 500 Rupees

In addition to this, the government would also provide training to the beneficiaries. 

Along with the training, the beneficiaries would also receive a daily reward of Rs 500. 

By lowering the unemployment rate and raising the employment rate, this program will benefit the residents of the Vishwakarma community.

A loan of Rs 3 lakh will be available at 5% interest.

Under PM Vishwakarma Yojana, the government will provide loans up to Rs 3 lakh to artisans and craftsmen to make them self-reliant. 

This loan will be given to the beneficiary in two instalments. 

In the first phase of the scheme, workers will get a loan of Rs 1 lakh at a 5% interest rate, while in the second phase, a loan of Rs 2 lakh will be sanctioned through collateral-free credit support, incentives for digital transactions and marketing support. 

Rs 13,000 crore will be spent on the Pradhan Mantri Vishwakarma Kaushal Samman Yojana from 2023-24 to 2027-28. 

This will benefit approximately 30 lakh traditional artisans across the country.

• The country’s workers and craftsmen will get many benefits through PM Vishwakarma Yojana.
• All castes with Vishwakarma community ties, like blacksmiths, potters, barbers, fishermen, washermen, cobblers, tailors, etc., will benefit.
• Under this scheme, skill training will be given, related to basic and advanced training.
• Training will be given to people who want to start their employment.
• They will also be given a training certificate and ID card to identify the beneficiary so that the beneficiaries can be identified.
• Under this scheme, a tool kit worth Rs 15,000 will be given as an incentive.
• Collateral free enterprise development loan will also be given under PM Vishwakarma Yojana, which will be given in two instalments. The first instalment of Rs 1 lakh will be given for repayment for 18 months; apart from this, the second instalment of a loan of up to Rs 2 lakh will be given for repayment for 30 months.
• The government will also provide marketing support to the artisans under this scheme.
• For this, services like the National Committee for Marketing Quality Certification, branding and promotion, e-commerce linkage, trade fair ads, and ideas on marketing activities will also be provided.
• By getting financial assistance through this scheme, the employment rate and unemployment rates will increase.

Eligibility for PM Vishwakarma Yojana

1. Only Indian citizens can apply for PM Vishwakarma Yojana.

2. Applications accepted from 140 Vishwakarma group castes.

3. National artists and craftspeople must be qualified to register.

4. Government employees cannot apply for this yojana.

5. Those who benefited from a government credit program are not eligible.

6. The Aadhar card must be linked to the applicant’s bank account.

7. One application is allowed per household.
